The well-known director by the name of Ron Howard is going to be directing an animated feature film - according to a recent report by
Variety. This will be the first time in his career that Howard has helmed an animated project. It'll reportedly be a hybrid of animation and live-action.
The Shrinking of Treehorn is a children's book from 1971. The book
"follows a young man who begins shrinking in size after playing a strange board game, which goes largely unnoticed by his parents." It was written by Florence Parry Heide and Edward Gorey.
It's this book that the animated film will be based on. According to reports, as well as the book's title, the film will largely make use of the art style of the book.
Brian Grazer's Imagine Entertainment and Animal Logic (
The Lego Movie, Happy Feet) are attached to produce. Rob Lieber (
Peter Rabbit,
Alexander and the Terrile No Good Very Bad Day) is responsible for penning the film's screenplay.
