This week sees the Digital release of the musical animated sequel to Rock Dog with Rock Dog 2: Rock Around the Park, with a physical release to follow suit next week as well.
To help promote the new release, we spoke with the voice actress behind Darma, one of the main characters, Ashleigh Ball. Ball is also a musician who has voice acted in many other projects to which she lent her voice talents - both musically and otherwise.
Before joining the cast of Rock Dog 2: Rock Around the Park, the actress also voiced and sang as both Applejack and Rainbow Dash in dozens of My Little Pony projects, as well as Ready Jet Go and Lego Elves.
Being a musician in her own life, she told us about the parallels she experienced with her former band Hey Ocean, the film's plot, and many other fun tidbits. You can hear all of this and more in our exclusive chat on Literary Joe's Inner Child Podcast below.
The multi-talented Ashleigh Ball joins us to promote her new movie Rock Dog 2: Rock Around the Park, which releases this week, and sees her voice the character of Darma. The singer/songwriter talked to us a bit about her own music career and how her time with Hey Ocean and meeting with Gene Simmons for a record deal paralleled the plot of Rock Dog 2. We also talk about how the musician provides both the voices and the singing for her My Little Pony characters Apple Jack and Rainbow Dash and various other voice acting roles she has performed prior to this.
What do you guys think of this chat with Ashleigh? Stay tuned for the official transcripts of the conversation coming to Toonado and ComicBookMovie as the release approaches!
