According to the latest rumor doing the rounds on the internet, an R-rated animated series based on the 2014 Alien: Isolation video game may be currently in the works.
Sources seemingly confirm that the studio behind this new animated series would be none other than Axis Animation, which is the same studio that was involved in working on the VFX for the Alien: Isolation video game.
While there are only but a few details shared about this mysterious Alien: Isolation animated series, it seems that the first season will only feature 7 episodes, which is perfect for the studio to test the waters and see if there's an audience for the show.
As of the writing of this article, Axis Animation has yet to confirm or deny that they are working on this alleged Alien: Isolation series; the same can be said about 20th Century Fox, the studio holding the rights to the Alien franchise.
Since this is still considered to be a rumor, take this information with a grain of salt, although an Alien animated series — especially one no longer than 7 episodes — is a great way to expand on the Alien universe without messing too much with the source material.
It is not known whether this alleged animated series would be a direct sequel to the Alien: Isolation video game, or an adaptation of that story. We'll just have to wait for 20th Century Fox and Axis Animation to confirm or deny the rumors.
