Pokémon: Mewtwo Strikes Back Evolution released last year in Japan. It's a 3D CG remake of
Pokémon: The First Movie and was directed by both Kunihiko Yuyama and Motonori Sakakibara and initially released exclusively in Japan back in July 2019.
In ten days, the animated movie will be available to stream on Netflix in the United States (and the rest of the West). What's more, the Netflix release of
Pokémon: Mewtwo Strikes Back Evolution may well offer an option that hasn't been present for previous
Pokémon movie Netflix releases.
Previously, if you wanted to view a
Pokémon movie in its original form and as the directors intended (in Japanese), you'd be out of luck as it would only be available to stream in English. It's in this aspect that
Pokémon: Mewtwo Strikes Back Evolution may well differ.
A Twitter user by the name of
@FelipoDepot (via
Gamefragger) noticed that the animated movie's trailer is available in Japanese (both in terms of audio and subtitles). This is a first for
Pokémon movies on Netflix and suggests that the
Pokémon: Mewtwo Strikes Back Evolution itself will offer the same option. Check out the evidence below. What do you think of it?
