News from Cannes reveals that Oprah Winfrey has joined the voice cast of the VR animated short film, Crow: The Legend. The project is being spearheaded by Baobab Studios (founded by Antz and Madagascar director Eric Darnell) and R&B soul crooner, John Legend.
Besides Winfrey and Legend, the voice cast already includes Tye Sheridan (Ready Player One), Liza Koshy (Freakish), Constance Wu (Fresh Off the Boat) and Diego Luna (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story). Legend aptly voices the titular avian protagonist of the pic.
The film is described as taking its ques from a Native American folktale, as the story "illustrates the sacrifices of the crow, once the most beautiful animal of the forest who must sacrifice everything he believes matters, to help make the world a better place."
