In addition to the
Rocko's Modern Life animated film, Viacom, the parent company of MTV, Nickelodeon and VH1, has apparently sold the film rights to Netflix. The streaming giant subsequently revealed on Twitter that the revival would be premiering this Summer.
Invader Zim: Enter the Florpus
was teased at SDCC last year but news on the project had been pretty scarce up until now. It seems this is part of a diabolical marketing strategy by Netflix to corner the market on all the '90s kids who are now millenials with disposable income. Netflix will certainly need fesh tactics as they'll soon have a lot more competition as streaming services from Disney, WB and Apple are all set to drop later this year.
Keep your fingers crossed that Netflix and Nickelodeon somehow pry the rights to Doug from Disney's Infinity Gauntlet powered grip.
