Sonic the Hedgehog will be racing into theatres on February 14th — that's exactly one month away! The live-action movie is based on the popular video game series of the same name and stars Ben Schwartz and Jim Carrey as the titular speedster and Dr. Robotnik respectively. James Marsden and Tika Sumpter also feature while Jeff Fowler directs.
With precisely one month to go until release, Paramount Pictures has started to release TV spots and other new promotional materials such as posters. Earlier today, a new TV spot surfaced online and seemingly originated on Nickelodeon (via
Gamefragger).
This TV spot features just a little bit of new footage — but it's quite excting. Sonic charges himself up with a flurry of electricity before taking on Dr. Robotnik himself. The titular speedster goes "Pew, pew pew!" as he points finger-guns at Robotnik drones and loses his golden rings as he falls.
You can check all that out in the TV spot below (via

Sonic the Hedgehog is a live-action adventure comedy based on the global blockbuster videogame franchise from Sega that centers on the infamously brash bright blue hedgehog. The film follows the (mis)adventures of Sonic as he navigates the complexities of life on Earth with his newfound – human – best friend Tom Wachowski (James Marsden). Sonic and Tom join forces to try and stop the villainous Dr. Robotnik (Jim Carrey) from capturing Sonic and using his immense powers for world domination. The film also stars Tika Sumpter and Ben Schwartz as the voice of Sonic.
