DreamWorks Animation Studios is putting the full capabilities of its award-winning 3D software program MoonRay on display in the latest trailer for Trolls Band Together, which is the third entry in the animated film franchise that began in 2016.
In the film, it seems that Branch (Justin Timberlake) is hiding a secret boy band past that gets discovered when his long-lost brother, John Dory (Eric Andre) turns up in Pop Trolls Village with the news that one of their fellow BroZone members has been captured.
On the journey to rescue him, it seems Poppy (Anna Kendrick) discovers that she too, has a long-lost sibling, Viva, who is played by Camila Cabello.
Walt Dohrn who co-directed the previous two film entries, returns to co-helm the film alongside Tim Heitz, a storyboard artist with credits on Megamind, How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World, and Monsters vs Aliens. Heitz also directed the Trolls TV movie, Trolls Holiday in Harmony.
Since the success of the 2016 theatrical film, the Trolls animation franchise has launched two television series totaling 104 episodes, 5 short films, and 2 television movies.
The musical nature of the franchise led to the first 2016 Trolls film winning a Grammy for Best Song Written for Visual Media in 2017 for Justin Timberlake's Can't Stop the Feeling!

After two films of true friendship and relentless flirting, Poppy (Anna Kendrick) and Branch (Justin Timberlake) are now officially, finally, a couple (#broppy)! As they grow closer, Poppy discovers that Branch has a secret past. He was once part of her favorite boyband phenomenon, BroZone, with his four brothers: Floyd (Golden Globe nominated electropop sensation Troye Sivan), John Dory (Eric André; Sing 2), Spruce (Grammy winner Daveed Diggs; Hamilton) and Clay (Grammy winner Kid Cudi; Don’t Look Up). BroZone disbanded when Branch was still a baby, as did the family, and Branch hasn’t seen his brothers since.
But when Branch’s bro Floyd is kidnapped for his musical talents by a pair of nefarious pop-star villains—Velvet (Emmy winner Amy Schumer; Trainwreck) and Veneer (Grammy winner and Tony nominee Andrew Rannells; The Book of Mormon)—Branch and Poppy embark on a harrowing and emotional journey to reunite the other brothers and rescue Floyd from a fate even worse than pop-culture obscurity.
