Two-time Oscar nominee Tomm Moore (Song of the Sea, The Secret of Kells) is back with Wolfwalkers, a new animated feature film for Apple that he co-directed with Ross Stewart at Cartoon Saloon. The film will premiere at TIFF on September 12 before a limited theatrical run later this Fall from GKids. It will also stream on Apple TV+.
The film follows a young girl named Robyn (Honor Kneafsey) who assists her father (Sean Bean) in hunting wolves. Those plans go astray when Robyn meets a young girl named Mebh (Eva Whittaker) who has the ability to turn into a wolf when she's sleeping.
Apple has recently confirmed that the film will hit the tech giant's streaming platform before Christmas.
GKids is releasing the film in select North American theaters later this fall to ensure it qualifies for the Oscars.
