Following the
latest trailer for Christopher Robin from earlier this week, Disney has released a new featurette exploring the legacy of
Winnie the Pooh. In the video, cast members and crew of the upcoming live-action adaptation offer their thoughts on the iconic franchise.
"Everybody knows Winnie the Pooh. Whether you know him from A.A. Milne's books or from Disney's cartoons, he's really alive as a character and people's imaginations," says Ewan McGregor, who plays an older version of Christopher Robin in the movie. Disney's live-action adaptation sees Pooh, Tigger, Eeyore and the rest of the lovable gang of stuffed animals venture from the Hundred Acre Wood to the real-world of London in order to help Christopher Robin - who is now grown and seemingly lost his way - rediscover the joys of family life, the value of friendship and to appreciate the simple pleasures in life once again.
"These are the characters that my generation, my parents' generation, and now this generation are growing up with," adds Hayley Atwell, who plays Christopher Robin's wife Evelyn.
Also spotlighted in the video is Richard M. Sherman, the songwriter who helped write music for Disney's first
Winnie the Pooh short film. Sherman recently revealed that he worked on three new songs for the movie.
