Disney's live-action remake of
Mulan has been in the works for quite some time. After
The Lion King arrives in theatres on July 19th, it'll be the next theatrical release of one of Disney's remakes - with its debut currently set for March of next year.
The Little Mermaid remake is currently without a release date but will presumably release after that date.
The first trailer for the upcoming remake of Mulan will release later today on FOX. There have been rumours that one would arrive to go alongside
The Lion King in theatres, but it was recently confirmed during a Fox Sports 1 news broadcast (via
Comicbook.com).
This announcement took place during coverage of the FIFA Women's World Cup and, with the Women's World Cup finals taking place today, it'll seemingly be dropping sometime during the match between the US and Netherlands. As of late, the Women's World Cup has been drawing a lot of eyes, so it's a fitting place to drop a trailer for a tentpole like Mulan.
Disney's live-action remake of
Mulan will be directed by Niki Caro and star Liu Yifei, Yoson An, Jason Scott Lee, Utkarsh Ambudkar, Ron Yuan, Tzi Ma, Rosalind Chao, Cheng Pei-Pei, Nelson Lee, Chum Ehelepola, Donnie Yen, Jet Li, and Gong Li.
Mulan is set to arrive in theatres on March 27th, 2020.
