MULAN Director Niki Caro Teases A Familiar Location With A New Behind-The-Scenes Photo
A new behind-the-scenes photo from the Disney's live-action Mulan film harkens back to an emotional scene in the animated film by teasing a location that will be familiar to fans. Hit the jump to check it out.
Yesterday, we were treated to our first look at the star of Mulan, Liu Yifei, in character as the eponymous warrior, and now director Niki Caro (The Zookeeper's Wife) has shared another look at the Disney production.
This new photo was posted on Caro's Instagram page and provides a behind-the-scenes glimpse at the making of the highly anticipated live-action film and Liu Yifei, who is once again in costume.
It's unknown when the scene pictured below occurs in the movie, but it does seem to confirm that, just like the animated film, the hero's home will have a beautiful cherry tree.
Also, the director's mention of reflections in the caption of her post recalls the famous musical number in the animated Mulan movie, where Lea Salonga performed the song "Reflections" as part of an emotional turning point for the title character.
