Back in late November, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment announced that TT Games are developing a tie-in video-game that will release alongside the upcoming, animated movie The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part.

The game will be available on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PC, and Nintendo Switch. Like previous LEGO video-games by TT Games, The LEGO Movie 2 Videogame will allow players to take control of their favourite characters from the film and play out a brick-built adaptation of the story.

Warner Bros. recently published some more information (via Comicbook.com) regarding the upcoming video-game, for instance; here's a new synopsis - which is loosely based on the upcoming animated film itself: "The alien monster invaders have left Bricksburg in ruins. It is now up to Emmet and a host of heroic characters to go beyond their world and save their friends from the strange inhabitants of the Systar System. Players can journey into outer space, discover new worlds, and test their Master Building skills."

It will feature over one-hundred playable characters - including the likes of Lucy, Batman, Emmett, and newcomers like Rex Dangervest and General Mayhem.
The gameplay will be similar to previous LEGO video-games only this time combat will feature combo and power-moves.

Locations like the Systar System and Bricksburg will feature as a couple of in-game worlds that the player can explore - a la Kingdom Hearts. Each of these worlds will include various activities and secrets.

The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part is set to arrive in theatres on February 19th, 2019.
The Lego Movie 2 Videogame is set to release in 2019 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
