In just one month, moviegoers will experience a magical journey as they return to Cherry Tree Lane in Disney's upcoming Mary Poppins Returns. The highly anticipated sequel to the original 1964 film that starred Julie Andrews features a star-studded cast of its own. While Emily Blunt will portray the iconic magical nanny, Broadway star Lin-Manuel Miranda (Hamilton) has also garnered much attention as Jack the Lamplighter.

An old friend of Poppins and described as "a charming, optimistic lamplighter who brings light – and life – to the streets of London and everyone around him."

The latest teaser for Mary Poppins Returns offers us a sneak peek at the upcoming film, including one of its original songs, performed by Miranda's character.  After a brief sequence that sees Mary Poppins return to help with the new generation of Banks children, the teaser breaks out into a song and dance as Jack sings about finding the positives in life, even when things are looking down.



In Disney’s “Mary Poppins Returns,” an all new original musical and sequel, Mary Poppins is back to help the next generation of the Banks family find the joy and wonder missing in their lives following a personal loss. Emily Blunt stars as the practically-perfect nanny with unique magical skills who can turn any ordinary task into an unforgettable, fantastic adventure and Lin-Manuel Miranda plays her friend Jack, an optimistic street lamplighter who helps bring light—and life—to the streets of London.


Like the original film, Mary Poppins Returns will mix live-action with animated sequences are you embark on this magical adventure. Mary Poppins Returns flies into theaters on December 19.
