In August, Marvel and Disney introduced us to Marvel Rising, a "brand-new, multi-platform animation franchise starring the next generation of Marvel heroes." The program launched with a series of digital shorts, Marvel Rising: Initiation, that spotlighted Ghost-Spider (formerly known as Spider-Gwen) and introduced us to this new universe and the aspiring heroes that populate us. It also set the stage for Marvel Rising: Secret Warriors, a feature-length animated film that will bring these new and beloved characters together as to face a growing threat.

This week, Marvel and Disney released the first trailer for Marvel Rising: Secret Warriors. The 80-minute feature film seems to embrace a similar tone to the Initiation shorts; that is, a successful blend of humor, action, and storytelling.  The trailer and poster highlight the diverse super-team comprised of Ms. Marvel (Kathreen Khavari), Squirrel Girl (Milana Vayntrub), America Chavez (Cierra Ramirez), Quake (Chloe Bennet), Patriot (Kamil McFadden), and more. Interestingly, there was no sighting Ghost-Spider in the trailer.

When a threat no one could have expected bears down on the Marvel Universe, this ragtag, untrained band of teens have no choice but to rise together and prove to the world that sometimes the difference between a “hero” and “misfit” is just in the name.

Marvel Rising: Secret Warriors will premiere Sunday, September 30 at 10:00 p.m. on Disney Channel and Disney XD.
