Maleficent: Mistress of Evil arrived in theatres on October 18th. Though the Disney sequel didn't get off to the greatest start at the box office,
Maleficent: Mistress of Evil has managed to nab the top spot from
Joker — but not by a large margin (via

The movie about the Clown Prince of Crime has almost been in theatres for an entire month and has manged to make quite a bit of money in that time — $851 million overall. The Warner Bros. film is reportedly the biggest R-rated film of all time and stands a good chance at hitting the $1 billion mark before its time in theatres runs out. However, it has now lost the #1 spot at the box office.
Maleficent: Mistress of Evil didn't get off to the best start at the box office —
more on that here — but managed to turn things around during its second weekend. The Angelina Jolie-starrer reportedly made $19.36 million while
Joker only earned $19.24 million. By a measly $120,000 (in terms of box office),
Maleficent: Mistress of Evil has taken the top spot.
Domestically, the sequel has managed to make $65,412,158. Worldwide,
Maleficent: Mistress of Evil has made $294,805,398.
