Warner Bros. are currently working on a live-action adaptation of Tom and Jerry. It will be the iconic animated duo's first major theatrical release and star Chloe Grace Moretz (Kick-Ass), Michael Pena (Ant-Man), and Colin Jost (Saturday Night Live) as well as Ken Jeong (Community), Rob Delaney (Deadpool 2), Jordan Bolger (The 100), and Pallavi Sharda (Lion).

Tim Story (Fantastic Four) directs a script written by Bryan Schulz, Cornelius Uliano, and Kevin Costello. Moretz plays a hotel employee by the name of Kayla who is tasked with ridding the establishment of a scampering mouse. She enlists a street cat named Tom to help her out. Pena plays her boss — whose name is Terrance. That's as much as we know about characters and story thus far.

Previously, the live-action Tom and Jerry movie was set to arrive in theatres on April 16th, 2021. Warner Bros. has now moved it forward by a quite a few months (via THR); the Tom and Jerry film will now debut in theatres just two days before Christmas Day on December 23rd, 2020. That's quite the sign of confidence, giving the film a holiday spot. We'll just have to wait and see what it's up against.

Tom and Jerry will arrive in theatres on December 23rd, 2020.
