Last month, Walt Disney Animation Studios gave us a
sneak peek at three of the original songs featured in
Frozen 2. One of them was a track titled "
Into The Unknown," which is essentially Idina Menzel's (Elsa's) big belting solo akin to "
Let It Go."
With
Frozen 2 hitting theaters this month, Disney has finally shared the full song, except that it's not the same version you'll hear in the actual movie from Idina Menzel. This version shared by Disney is actually a cover of the song by Panic! at the Disco, which will be featured in the movie's soundtrack. It's a little weird that the first full version we hear of the song isn't actually the one from Idina Menzel, but Panic! lead singer Brendon Urie certainly manages to channel his inner Elsa with it.
Panic! at the Disco is one of three musical artists that have reimagined an original track from the film. While they took on
"Into The Unknown," Kacey Musgraves recordered her own version of
"All Is Found," while Weezer covered
"Lost In The Woods." All of the original songs in
Frozen 2 were written by Oscar-winning Frozen songwriting duo Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez.
The
Frozen 2 soundtrack will release on November 15, one week ahead of the film's theatrical debut on November 22.
