During last night's Oscars, Chris Evans shared a new trailer for Lightyear. Revealing new snippets of footage from the movie, we see more of Buzz and another apparent Zurg tease as he takes aim at the hero. Director Angus MacLane previously suggested that Lightyear is the movie Toy Story character Andy saw that made him want a "Buzz Lightyear" toy, which is definitely an intriguing concept.

There's been a lot of controversy surrounding Disney's decision to release Pixar's latest movies - Soul, Luca, and Turning Red - on Disney+, with reports suggesting there's now a lot of unhappiness in the studio. However, Lightyear is destined for the big screen, and should be a box office hit with a prime summer release date and one of the Toy Story franchise's most popular characters as the lead.

Will Woody ultimately get his own movie? His origins were covered in Toy Story 2, but it might be fun to see what Pixar could do with a Western that puts a new spin on the cowboy and his pals.

The sci-fi action-adventure presents the definitive origin story of Buzz Lightyear - the hero who inspired the toy - introducing the legendary Space Ranger who would win generations of fans.

Joining Chris Evans as Buzz are Keke Palmer, Dale Soules, and Taika Waititi as a group of ambitious recruits. Peter Sohn voices Buzz’s robot companion, Sox, and the cast also includes the voices of Uzo Aduba, James Brolin, Mary McDonald-Lewis, Efren Ramirez, and Isiah Whitlock Jr.

Lightyear is set to be released in theaters on June 17.
