Sony Pictures Entertainment have released (via
Gamefragger) the first official trailer for their upcoming sequel to 2017's
Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle - which itself was a reboot of the 1995 fim
Jumanji.
Jumanji: The Next Level sees our band of high school teens yet again warped into the ominous video game world of Jumanji - but this time they inadvertantly bring a couple of friends with them. Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, Kevin Hart, Karen Gillan, Jack Black, and Nick Jonas are all back, reprising their roles from
Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle.
Along with the trailer came a new synopsis:
"In Jumanji: The Next Level, the gang is back but the game has changed. As they return to Jumanji to rescue one of their own, they discover that nothing is as they expect. The players will have to brave parts unknown and unexplored, from the arid deserts to the snowy mountains, in order to escape the world’s most dangerous game."
Danny Glover, Danny DeVito, and Awkwafina are all new additions to the film's cast. The two former actors are shown to come into play in an amazing way, while we only get a brief shot of the latter. The trailer also features a plethora of action-packed and hilarious moments - much akin to its predecessor. Check it out for yourself:
Jumanji: The Next Level is set to release in theatres on December 13th, 2019.
