The DC Animated Movie lineup is growing one stronger as DC have revealed they're in the works of a new animated film centered around the comic line of Injustice The film also -- in proxy -- holds inspiration from the game from NeatherRealm Studios Mortal Kombat-style fighting franchise, Injustice: Gods Among Us.
The line of comics see Superman go on a rampage after The Joker successfully tricks the hero into killing his love -- Lois Lane. This new side of the hero led to the forceful acquision of Earth and his former pals such as Batman, to attempt to stop him. Warner Bros. Animation, DC, and Warner Bros. Home Entertainment are slated to join forces to produce the film. Meanwhile the voice cast isn't too snazy either.
To start, Justin Hartley is playing the role of Superman with Anson Mount as Batman, Laura Bailey as Lois Lane, and Rama Kushna Zach Callison as Damian and Jimmy Olsen. Brian T. Delaney is playing Green Lantern, Brandon Michael Hall as Cyborg, Edwin Hodge as Mr. Terrific and Killer Croc, Oliver Hudson as Plastic Man, Gillian Jacobs will be Harley Quinn. Yuri Lowenthal is Mirror Master, Flash, and Shazam, Derek Phillips is duel-playing Nightwing and Aquaman, Kevin Pollak is set to be The Joker and Jonathan Kent, Anika Noni Rose will be the role of Catwoman, Reid Scott as Green Arrow and Victor Zsasz. Faran Tahir is going to be Ra’s al Ghul, Fred Tatasciore as Captain Atom, Janet Varney as Wonder Woman, and Andrew Morgado as Mirror Master Soldier.
Mortal Kombat Legends: Scorpion’s Revenge producer, Rick Morales is producing alongside Jim Krieg and Sam Register, who will be the film's executive producer. Matt Peters of Justice League Dark fame is directing.
Injustice is going to be releasing sometime this fall.
