Disney-Pixar's latest film The Incredibles 2 recently overtook their own record, previously held by Finding Dory, and is now the highest-grossing animated film ever based on the domestic Box Office.
The film has made $485 million so far domestically, and today it will have reached $486 million and therefore pass the Finding Nemo sequel. This record-breaking milestone will make the long-awaited Incredibles sequel the highest grossing animated film ever at the domestic box office.
But that's no all as the film is set to cross the $500 million mark at the domestic box office as soon as next week - which will then make it the first animated film to reach such an amount.
Following that, Incredibles 2 is also expected to pass Disney's Beauty and the Beast ($504 million) and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story ($532 million) which would therefore put the film within the top ten domestic films of all time.
The superhero family are truly back and better than ever. What do you think about Incredibles 2's box office success?
In The Incredibles 2, Helen (voice of Holly Hunter) is called on to lead a campaign to bring Supers back, while Bob (voice of Craig T. Nelson) navigates the day-to-day heroics of “normal” life at home with Violet (voice of Sarah Vowell), Dash (voice of Huck Milner) and baby Jack-Jack—whose superpowers are about to be discovered. Their mission is derailed, however, when a new villain emerges with a brilliant and dangerous plot that threatens everything. But the Parrs don’t shy away from a challenge, especially with Frozone (voice of Samuel L. Jackson) by their side. That’s what makes this family so Incredible.
The Incredibles 2 will be releasing in theatres on June 15th.
