Per Box Office Mojo, the last time two films opened back-to-back with $100M+ at the domestic box office was in 2007, when Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End hit theaters first, with $114.7M and was followed by Shrek the Third's $121.6M.
Eleven years later, that feat is going to be surpassed, as Disney-Pixar's Incredibles 2 opened last weekend to $182.6M and Universal's Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom is headed for an opening in the range of $130M.
Chris Pratt's Fallen Kingdom actually hit theaters internationally last weekend and has already amassed $450M from global audiences. Likewise, Incredibles 2 currently sits at $328.2M worldwide. It's box office numbers have already pushed Disney's yearly gross past $2 billion dollars and we're only at the halfway point of 2018.
