Illumination's THE GRINCH Digital HD, Blu-ray Release Dates Announced Alongside Special Features

Universal's The Grinch, Illumination's animated take on the classic Dr. Seuss' heartwarming holiday tale, will arrive on Digital HD tomorrow, January 22. It'll also be available via the digital movie app Movies Anywhere.

For those who prefer a physical copy, the film will release on 4K Ultra HD, 3D Blu-ray, Blu-ray, DVD, and On Demand next month on February 5, 2019.

Bonus features and three mini-movies will be included in all versions of the home release. Meanwhile, the physical copies will include two exclusive bonus features: an interactive map that offers more details about the various Who's living in Who-ville, and the lyric video to Tyler, The Creator's "You're A Mean One, Mr. Grinch."

BONUS FEATURES EXCLUSIVE TO 4K ULTRA HD, 3D BLU-RAY, BLU-RAY and DVD:

• Who's Who in Who-ville (interactive map) – There are so many interesting characters that call Who-ville home that it's hard to keep track of them all. This "Who's Who" pop-up book uses animation to create a virtual storybook that takes us from Who-ville to Mt. Crumpit.
• "You're A Mean One, Mr. Grinch" Lyric Video – Tyler, The Creator puts a modern spin on the Seussian Christmas classic.

The Grinch grossed over $507.9 million worldwide ($270M domestic; $237.9M foreign), despite lackluster reviews. It scored only a 58% on Rotten Tomatoes among critics with an audience score of just 54%.
