Those anticipating the finale to the How To Train Your Dragon franchise won't have to wait as long as previously believed as the third film's release date was recently moved up.

Deadline recently reported that Dreamworks' upcoming animated sequel How To Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World was originally set to release next year on May 18th, then was moved up to March 1st, and now has finally settled on the date of February 22nd.

Though as reason for the release date change wasn't provided; it's believed that the film was moved up to avoid competing films. Despite that it was arguably the most prominent film of the bunch, with the now defunct March 1st release date, the film would've gone up against Dwayne Johnson's Flirting With My Family, Tyler Perry's A Madea Family Funeral, Chaos Walking (which stars Tom Holland and Daisy Ridley), and The Kid Who Would Be King. With the February 22nd release date, the film is only up against The Rythm Section.

What do you think of the release date change? Are you looking forward to How To Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World?

How To Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World arrives in theatres on February 22nd.
