Dean Deblois is best known for helming the How to Train Your Dragon movies. He directed the second and third instalments on his own and co-directed the first installment alongside Chris Sanders. With Sanders, DeBlois also directed Lilo and Stitch.

According to a new scoop by The Hollywood Reporter, Paramount Pictures has enlisted DeBlois to both write and direct a live-action Micronauts movie. This project will be the director's first venture into the realm of live-action. Brian Goldner, Stephen Davis, and Greg Mooradian will all serve as producers through AllSpark Pictures.

Micronauts was an action figure toyline from the 1970s. They were produced by Mego and were the basis of a Marvel Comics series — which provided the toyline with an official storyline. Micronauts was based on a similar Japanese toyline named Microman. All in all, they brand is quite similar to Transformers and G.I. Joe.

Micronauts is set to arrive in theatres on June 4, 2021.
