Hot Toys Reveals New SPIDER-MAN: ACROSS THE SPIDER-VERSE Spider-Man 2099 Figure Following Fan Backlash

Back in May, Hot Toys revealed its 1/6th scale figures based on Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. Miles Morales/Spider-Man, Spider-Gwen, and Spider-Man 2099 all received the spotlight, though the latter's appearance shocked collectors.

For some reason, his articulation points were on full display, including a midsection clearly split in two akin to a $25 Marvel Legends action figure.

It was an unprecedented move for Hot Toys, and one which meant Spider-Man 2099 lacked the sort of screen accuracy which is a major draw to those who buy these pricey collectables.

In response to the backlash, the company said they would go back to the drawing board and we now have some official photos! Decked out in what's described as "a newly tailored, highly-flexible fabric material," this is a major improvement and a design that seemingly hasn't sacrificed any of Miguel O'Hara's posing options.

Take a closer look at the overhauled Spider-Man 2099 below.

Miles Morales returns for the next chapter of the Oscar-winning Spider-Verse saga, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. After reuniting with Gwen Stacy, Brooklyn's full-time, friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man is catapulted across the Multiverse, where he encounters a team of Spider-People charged with protecting its very existence.

But when the heroes clash on how to handle a new threat, Miles finds himself pitted against the other Spiders and must redefine what it means to be a hero so he can save the people he loves most.

The movie stars Shameik Moore, Hailee Steinfeld, Jake Johnson, Issa Rae, Daniel Kaluuya, Karan Soni, Jason Schwartzman, Brian Tyree Henry, Luna Lauren Velez, Greta Lee, Rachel Dratch, Jorma Taccone, Shea Whigham, and Oscar Isaac.

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is now available on Digital platforms.
