Gina Rodriguez, Will Forte, Tracy Morgan, and Frank Welker have all closed deals with Warner Bros. to voice members of Mystery Inc. in an upcoming Scooby-Doo animated movie. Tony Cervone is attached to direct, while Chris Columbus, Charles Roven, and Allison Abbate produce.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, this animated movie will be a reboot of sorts and will release theatrically. This will be the first time the franchise has ventured onto the big-screen since, the infamous, 2004 live-action film, Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed.

In terms of the reboot's plot; apparently, the animated film will see Mystery Inc. team up with various other Hanna-Barbera characters - such as Dick Dastardly and Muttley of Wacky Races

Rodriguez will be playing Velma, Forte will be playing Shaggy, Morgan will play Hanna-Barbera's Captain Caveman, and Frank Welker will, of course, be voicing Fred as well as Scooby-Doo himself - as Welker has done since the lovable mutt debuted. Currently, the only missing link is Daphne - we'll be sure to notify you when a voice-actress is cast in the role.

Forte has voiced characters in the likes of The LEGO Movie, Gravity Falls, American Dad!, and Bob's Burgers. Rodriguez currently stars as the titular character in Netflix's Carmen Sandiego animated series and has voiced characters in Smallfoot, Ferdinand, and Big Mouth. Morgan is credited as having voice-over roles in The Boxtrolls and the Rio films.

Scooby is set to release in theatres in 2020.
