Following his appearances in the less-than-beloved G.I. Joe films, mysterious warrior Snake Eyes is finally set to receive his own spinoff film later this year, with Crazy Rich Asians star Henry Golding in the lead role.

The forthcoming movie has already been shooting in Vancouver, but now production on the Paramount Pictures film has moved to Japan, where Golding, Andrew Koji, Haruka Abe and a few other members of the cast and crew received a traditional blessing at Hie-Jinja Shrine in Tokyo before filming began.

Additionally, to further commemorate the event, the studio released the official logo for the movie, which makes it clear that the Robert Schwentke-helmed feature will act as an origin story of the iconic G.I. Joe member.

Scheduled to hit theaters on October 16, 2020, Snake Eyes also stars the likes of Takehiro Hira, Samara Weaving and Úrsula Corberó.
