Chris Pratt made a name for himself as Andy Dwyer in Parks and Recreation but has since become a Hollywood megastar after taking on lead roles in the Guardians of the Galaxy, Avengers, and Jurassic World franchises.
However, we've also seen the actor make his mark in the animated realm, lending his voice to The LEGO Movie, Pixar's Onward and, perhaps most controversially, The Super Mario Bros. Movie.
Pratt would prove the haters wrong with his take on Mario, though the video game icon isn't the only iconic character he's set to play. Next up? Everyone's favourite lasagne-loving cat, Garfield.
We've known for some time that he'll star in the animated Garfield reboot, of course, and a new look at the furry feline was revealed yesterday to celebrate National Cat Day. You can take a closer look at the movie's take on the character below.
That looks like Garfield, alright, but what's even more intriguing is how Pratt's take on the character will sound. It might not be long before we find out either because the movie has been dated for a May 24, 2024 release.
Alongside Pratt, Garfield's impressive ensemble includes Samuel L. Jackson, Nicholas Hoult, Hannah Waddingham, Cecily Strong, Ving Rhames, Brett Goldstein, and Bowen Yang.
Last year, the Guardians of the Galaxy star took to Twitter/X to tease the project when he said, "Get ready for some Garfield! Coming to theaters on President’s Day weekend 2024. Finally, a Monday you’re not going to hate! I have been deep in research on this one. Mostly eating lasagna. But also licking myself clean."
