Earlier today, Universal Japan presented a bunch of new information about their upcoming theme park collaboration with Nintendo — Super Nintendo World.
Firstly, the Super Nintendo World Global Kick Off Presentation featured a promotional music video with an all-new song. It's called
"We Are Born To Play" and features Galantis and Charli XCX (via
Universal Japan). This video confirms that the theme park will feature a portion dedicated to
Mario Kart — not to mention a traditional
Super Mario Bros. theme.
It's said that Super Nintendo World will officially open before the Summer Olympics at Universal Studios in Osaka, Japan. Contrasting the dream-like nature of Disneyland, Nintendo and Universal claim the park
"will energize you and make you feel alive." Thierry Coup of Universal describes Super Nintendo World as
"a life-size, living video game."
Nintendo being Nintendo; Super Nintendo World won't just be a run-of-the-mill theme park with a
Super Mario Bros. skin over it. They're innovating with the park. Attendees will be provided with a
"Power Up Band" that they can adorn on their wrist and sync up with a smartphone app. While you play, you can compete against others and earn digital coins.
