Disney may be working on a new live-action adaptation of
The Lion King, but Funko isn't quite ready to move on from the 1994 animated classic. Today, the collectible toy maker unveiled a new line of Pop! figures for the animated musical hit.
Coming in January,
The Lion King Pop! line will consist of four figures: Mufasa, Simba, Nala, Luau Pumbaa, Zazu, and Luau Timon. In case you're wondering, it's the young versions of Nala and Simba, with the soon-to-be king holding some grub.
If we learned anything from Disney’s 1994 animated epic musical, it’s that hakuna matata ain’t no passing craze and neither are the loveable characters The Lion King introduced to the world. Bring home a piece of the Pride Lands of Africa, and Disney, with Pop! Mufasa, Simba, Nala and Zazu. Meanwhile, Pop! Timon and Pumbaa are ready for a luau with a grass skirt, apple and lei.

The Lion King figures coming early next year.
Disney's
The Lion King is one of the highest-grossing animated films of all time with a lifetime box office just shy of $1 billion. Jon Favreau's live-action adaptation of the movie is set to arrive in theaters on July 19, 2019. A trailer for the film
was released last month. While not yet announced, you can pretty much expect we'll be getting another line of Funko figures based on this new iteration as well.
