Frozen 2 got off to a record-breaking start at the box office, earning over $130 million within its opening weekend — find out more about that impressive opening here.

Frozen 2 has had the greatest Thanksgiving opening of all time, beating the $109.9 million gross of The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. Additionally, Frozen 2 holds the best Thanksgiving showing for a Disney animted film, having beaten its predecessor's $93.7 million.

Sequel to the 2013 animated film, Frozen 2 sees Kristen Bell, Idina Menzel, Jonathan Groff, and Josh Gad reprise the roles of Anna, Elsa, Kristoff, and Olaf respectively. Elsa feels drawn to an enchanted forest and ventures into it with her friends in order to find the source of her power and a place the belong.

Despite the release of Knives Out and Ford v Ferrari, Frozen 2 has managed to maintain the top spot on box office charts — with the mystery-thriller and car-centric film sitting at second and third respectively.

As of Sunday, Frozen 2 has earned $287.6 million domestically and a massive $738.6 million globally (via Box Office Mojo). In 11 markets, including China, Frozen 2 has already surpassed the total lifetime gross of its predecessor.

Why was Elsa born with magical powers? What truths about the past await Elsa as she ventures into the unknown to the enchanted forests and dark seas beyond Arendelle? The answers are calling her but also threatening her kingdom. Together with Anna, Kristoff, Olaf and Sven, she'll face a dangerous but remarkable journey. In “Frozen,” Elsa feared her powers were too much for the world. In “Frozen 2,” she must hope they are enough.
