Frozen 2 is about a year away and promises to somehow top the first Academy Award-winning film. The musical team of Bobby Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez are returning for the sequel and its director Jennifer Lee recently confirmed (via Variety) that four new songs have already been made for the film.
We have a new song that I think is an evolution. It's its own song...Bobby [Lopez] and Kristen [Anderson-Lopez] just delivered it three weeks ago. We've been working with them for two years and this song just came in and I love it.
With the first film, which currently stands as the highest-grossing animated film of all-time, featuring the memorable "Let it Go" song, the bar is high - especially considering that "Let it Go" won the Academy Award for Best Original Song.
Lee also teased that the new film will continue the story of Elsa (Idina Menzel) and Anna (Kristen Bell) but will be “bigger [and] more epic” than the first: “They’re going to go far out of Arendelle.”
What do you think of Lee's comments? Are you looking forward to Frozen 2?
Frozen 2 is set to hit theatres on November 22nd, 2019.
