Back in August, it was announced that a live musical adaptation of The Little Mermaid is in the works for ABC. Last week, we got our first look at the cast all dressed up as their characters — in a cool promo which you can check out below.

The broadcasting company teases that The Little Mermaid Live! will “take viewers on a magical adventure under the sea as live musical performances by a star-studded cast will be interwoven into the broadcast of the original feature film.”

The cast includes Auli’i Cravalho (Moana), Queen Latifah (Girls Trip) as the villainous Ursula, Shaggy (Grammy-award winning artist) as Sebastian, John Stamos (General Hospital) as Chef Louis, and Graham Phillips (The Good Wife) as Prince Eric.

Recently, it was announced that Amber Riley has joined the cast. Riley is best known for playing the character by the name of Mercedes in the television series Glee. Notably, she also won the 17th Season of Dancing With the Stars and featured alongside Qeuen Latifah in NBC's The Wiz.

According to TVLine, Riley will “will present the Daughters of Triton with a special performance for King Triton and his subjects." Given her prior roles, it's likely that Riley will be singing in The Little Mermaid Live! but we're not currently sure of who she's playing.

The Wonderful World of Disney presents The Little Mermaid Live! will air on November 5th at 8pm ET on ABC.
