First FROZEN 2 Trailer Teases A Bigger, Darker, And More Magical Adventure

Elsa, Anna, Kristoff, and Olaf are back in the first teaser trailer for Frozen 2, but it seems quite a bit has changed since we last saw them happily ever after in 2013.

Walt Disney Animation Studios has released the first teaser trailer for Frozen 2, the highly anticipated sequel to the 2013 hit animated film.

The teaser is light on actual plot details, but sets up what appears to be a much darker adventure for Elsa and company. It’s unclear exactly how much time has passed between the first film (and its numerous spinoffs) and this sequel, but our beloved heroes appear to be in some precarious situations.

Elsa is seen on a rocky beachfront, attempting to use her ice powers to cross the ocean. We also get glimpses at Anna, Kristoff, Olaf, and even Sven. The trailer also seems to tease a new character who looks to also have some sort of power (controlling wind?).

Overall, the teaser seems to be setting up a much larger adventure for our heroes and while the Frozen franchise has been known for its more lighthearted tone, it seems Walt Disney Animation Studios has created a sequel that might’ve grown up with its original audience.

From the Academy Award®-winning team—directors Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck, and producer Peter Del Vecho—and featuring the voices of Idina Menzel, Kristen Bell, Jonathan Groff and Josh Gad, and the music of Oscar®-winning songwriters Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez, Walt Disney Animation Studios’ “Frozen 2” opens in U.S. theaters on Nov. 22, 2019.

The original Frozen film was a surprise hit for Disney, hauling in over $1.2 billion in the worldwide box office. There’s a good chance Frozen 2 could top that when hits theaters on November 22, 2019.
