Fans Are Upset The New TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES Movie Did Not Receive A Single Golden Globe Nomination

The Golden Globes will be back on television for the 2023 awards season, after being  non-televised the previous year due in part to a boycott in opposition to bribery, conflicts of interest, and diversity.

CBS will broadcast the 81st Golden Globe Awards on January 7, 2024. With eight nominations apiece, Barbie and Oppenheimer led the pack when the nominees were revealed earlier this morning.

The Golden Globes serve as somewhat of a predictor for how the remainder of the awards season may turn out for a lot of insiders and observers in the film business.

For the Best Motion Picture-Animated category the contenders are Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, The Boy and the Heron, Elemental, The Super Mario Bros.  Movie, Wish and Suzume.

Across the Spider-Verse figures to be the odds-on favorite but there have been upsets in the animation category before.

More than a few animation fans are upset that Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem failed to secure a nomination and for what that portends for the rest of the awards season.

Mutant Mayhem didn't exactly light the box office on fire but it's developed a vocal and passionate fan base.
