With Dora setting off on her big live-action adventure in just over a month, Paramount Studios has released a new trailer for the film. Adapted from Nickelodeon's hit animated series,
Dora and the Lost City of Gold sees the bilingual, titular hero set off on her biggest adventure yet - high school. Well, that is until her parents go missing, forcing Dora and a group of teens to head deep into the jungle to save them.
The new trailer features a good mix of humor and adventure - an enjoyable adaptation for those who grew up watching the animated series. It even jokingly pokes fun at the cartoon's breaking of the fourth wall. The trailer also highlights some of the adventurous, puzzle-solving moments Dora and her friends will have to overcome while in the jungle.
Dora and the Lost City of Gold stars Isabela Moner as Dora, Michael Peña and Eva Longoria as her parents, Danny Trejo as Boots the monkey, Jeffrey Wahlberg as Diego, and Benicio del Toro as Swiper the thieving fox.
Having spent most of her life exploring the jungle with her parents, nothing could prepare Dora (Isabela Moner) for her most dangerous adventure ever – High School. Always the explorer, Dora quickly finds herself leading Boots (her best friend, a monkey), Diego (Jeffrey Wahlberg), a mysterious jungle inhabitant (Eugenio Derbez), and a rag tag group of teens on a live-action adventure to save her parents (Eva Longoria, Michael Peña) and solve the impossible mystery behind a lost city of gold.
Dora and the Lost City of Gold arrives in theaters on August 9.
