After an extensive search that saw the likes of Harry Styles (Dunkirk) and Cameron Cuffe (Krypton) earn top spots as potential candidates, Disney's forthcoming live-action The Little Mermaid film has finally found its Prince Eric.
In fact, per recent reports, Little Women's Jonah Hauer-King, who we recently learned was testing for the role along with Cuffe, has officially landed the role of Ariel’s (Halle Bailey) love interest.
While the casting process for Disney's latest live-action remake is still very much in progress, the feature has already assembled an impressive cast that includes Melissa McCarthy as Ursula, Awkwafina as Scuttle and Jacob Tremblay as Flounder.
The Little Mermaid is currently set to be directed by Rob Marshall and will incorporate the original songs from the 1989 animated classic, as well as new tracks from composer Alan Menken with lyrics by Lin-Manuel Miranda.
