A new report says Disney's isn't pulling the plug on their live-action Pinocchio film just yet.  Following the loss of director Paul King, it seems that Jack Thorne will be rewriting the script from scratch.  King had been set to direct the film from a script penned by Chris Weitz, who previously wrote Disney's live-action Cinderella, which starred Lilly James.

Pinocchio is one but many live-action adaptations of classic Disney tales coming down the pipeline, following The Lion King 2, Dumbo, Aladdin, and Mulan.

Before King's departure reports were swirling that Disney was after Tom Hanks to portray Gepetto.  Netflix also has a competing live-action Pinocchio film in development set to be directed by Guillermo del Toro.
