Disney-Pixar's Incredibles 2 took home $80.9 million U.S. dollars this weekend in North America, bringing its domestic total to $350.3 million USD. That was good enough for second place, as Universal's Jurassic World sequel roared in domestically with $150 million.
Over in China, the Parr family took home $21.2 million USD, Pixar's best opening to date in the world's #2 film market. That figure is especially impressive as some early analysts predicted that the World Cup broadcast might mute the animated film's box office potential internationally.
As a whole, the Incredibles 2 has currently grossed $485 million worldwide. There are still a number of foreign territories for the Brad Bird-directed pic to debut in and it will be interesting to see if the World Cup's latter rounds have any impact.
