Detective Pikachu finally released in theatres just days ago. The highly anticipated, live-action
Pokemon movie features Ryan Reynolds and Justice Smith as the titular Pokemon and Tim Goodman respectively. With Tim somehow able to understand Pikachu, the two aim to solve the mystery of what happened to, Harry Goodman, Tim's father and Pikachu's detective partner.
Tim and Pikachu aren't the only two character on this journey, however, as Lucy Stevens is also trying to figure out what happened to the missing detective. Lucy's actress, Kathryn Newton, recently did an interview with
Comicbook.com wherein she discussed how she thinks her character first met Psyduck (her Pokemon partner in crime).
I see them meeting in the middle of field on a beautiful spring morning with flowers, and there's Pokemon fairies around. The two look at each other and say, 'I choose you'.
Newton went on further, talking about both her character's peronality and love of Pokemon. The actress admits that the latter is something she hopes comes across on screen.
"She just loves Pokemon. As much as she's so energetic, she's a go-getter and a fear-less young girl, I hope you can feel her warmth and her love of Pokemon."

Ace detective Harry Goodman goes mysteriously missing, prompting his 21-year-old son, Tim, to find out what happened. Aiding in the investigation is Harry's former Pokémon partner, wise-cracking, adorable super-sleuth Detective Pikachu. Finding that they are uniquely equipped to work together, as Tim is the only human who can talk with Pikachu, they join forces to unravel the tangled mystery.
Detective Pikachu is set to arrive in theatres on May 10th, 2019.
