The live-action Detective Pikachu movie has added another cast member. Omar Chaparro is the latest actor to join the crew alongside Ryan Reynolds, Ken Watanabe, Justice Smith, Kathryn Newton, Bill Nighy, Chris Geere, Rita Ora and Suki Waterhouse in Detective Pikachu, which will be the first live-action film based on the popular Pokémon franchise from Legendary and Universal Pictures.

There have not been any details revealed about Chaparro's role at the moment so he could be either a human or another Pokemon!

Reynolds will portray the franchise's most iconic Pokemon, Pikachu or "Detective Pikachu" in the film who teams up with the lead human character, played by Justice Smith, in search for Smith's character's father who is kidnapped. Kathryn Newton is set to play the female lead, Lucy, who is "a sassy journalist" who joins the two on their adventure.
