Pokemon creatures. While the film was highly anticipated and coming from a long-running and massively popular franchise, the level of success that it has reached is unprecedented.
Though many expected the live-action
Pokemon film to be outshined by
Avengers: Endgame's release, the film has almost managed to rival the massive Marvel movie. Recently, Detective Pikachu crossed the $100 million USD mark at the domestic box office. This makes it the tenth film to do so this year.

Box Office Mojo, so far
Detective Pikachu has earned over an $116 million USD domestically. Outside of the US, the film has also been dominating the box office, making $246 million USD. Adding both the amounts together; Detective Pikachu has a worldwide sum of $352.9 million USD so far.
Ace detective Harry Goodman goes mysteriously missing, prompting his 21-year-old son, Tim, to find out what happened. Aiding in the investigation is Harry's former Pokémon partner, wise-cracking, adorable super-sleuth Detective Pikachu. Finding that they are uniquely equipped to work together, as Tim is the only human who can talk with Pikachu, they join forces to unravel the tangled mystery.
