While The Batman may be dominating headlines right now, Warner Bros. hasn't forgotten about its next big DC Comics movie (and we're not talking about Black Adam). A new trailer for DC League of Super-Pets has arrived and the spotlight is put almost entirely on the Dark Knight.
The movie's ensemble John Krasinski, Kate McKinnon, Vanessa Bayer, Natasha Lyonne, Diego Luna, Keanu Reeves, and Marc Maron, but it's Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart who will seemingly take centre stage as Krypto the Superdog and Ace the Bat-Hound. In this trailer, we see their respective pooches take centre stage alongside iconic DC Comics superheroes Superman and Batman.
"In 'DC League of Super-Pets,' Krypto the Super-Dog and Superman are inseparable best friends, sharing the same superpowers and fighting crime in Metropolis side by side," reads the synopsis. "When Superman and the rest of the Justice League are kidnapped, Krypto must convince a rag-tag shelter pack—Ace the hound, PB the potbellied pig, Merton the turtle and Chip the squirrel—to master their own newfound powers and help him rescue the superheroes."
It looks like an enjoyable enough romp and is clearly a movie aimed at younger fans of the DC Universe. Something tells us we can probably have fun with it too, though, and this is another sneak peek featuring Easter Eggs that comic book readers should appreciate (even when it does feel a little too much like The Secret Life of Pets with superpowers thrown in for good measure).
Jared Stern wrote and directed DC League of Super-Pets, and it's currently set to be released in theaters on May 20, 2022. You can watch the new trailer for the animated movie below:
