Disney's upcoming, photo-realistic remake of
The Lion King will be releasing in theatres on July 19th. Ahead of this theatrical debut, the film's soundtrack has been released. It features various songs from the film including some by Queen B herself: Beyoncé.
The popular singer recently debuted a music video for
"Spirit" (via
Pitchfork) which she describes as
"a love letter to Africa." It features Beyoncé sporting a variety of colourful outfits as well as some footage from the aformentioned, upcoming Disney film.
"Spirit" is the lead single of the 14-song collection that is The Lion King: The Gift. It's produced by Beyoncé herself and features a variety of artists - most notably; Kendrick Lamar, Childish Gambino, Jay-Z and Blue Ivy. The Lion King: The Gift is said to be a supplement to the official soundtrack of
The Lion King.
