ANT-MAN AND THE WASP Star Michael Peña Signs On To Play The Father Of DORA THE EXPLORER
Following the recent casting of Eva Longoria as Dora's mother, Michael Peña has joined the cast of Paramount's live-action Dora the Explorer film a sthe titular character father. Hit the jump for more details.
Yesterday, we learned Eva Longoria (Desperate Housewives) joined the cast of Paramount's live-action Dora the Explorer film as the eponymous character's mother, Elena. Now, the project has found an actor to play Longoria's on-screen husband.
According to The Hollywood Reporter's Borys Kit, Michael Peña (Ant-Man and the Wasp) has officially signed on to play the character Cole Márquez, Dora's father.
Like Elena, it's unclear how large of a presence the explorer's father will have in the movie, but considering Longoria and Peña are both big stars, there's a very good chance the two will at least have a significant role.
Dora the Explorer will be directed by James Bobin (Muppets Most Wanted) and is currently set to hit theaters on August 2, 2019.
