Abramorama will be celebrating the 50th Anniversary of The Beatles and director George Dunning's 1968 animated film, Yellow Submarine. The remastered version of the film will include subtitled song-lyrics so audiences can sing along.
Set to a '60s, psychedelic backdrop, Yellow Submarine sees The Beatles commissioned to save the underwater Pepperland from the music-hating Blue Meanies. They venture to the underwater kingdom in the Yellow Submarine.
Interestingly, the Beatles didn't voice their characters in the film, they only provided the songs. Ringo Starr is voiced by Paul Angelis, John Lennon is portrayed by John Clive, Geoffrey Hughes plays Paul McCartney and Peter Battens as George Harrison.
A motion capture, computer-animated remake from director Robert Zemeckis was planned in 2009 but canceled n 2011 after a disastrous opening weekend for Mars Needs Moms.
