Aladdin had an impressive $267 million opening weekend, meaning that a helluva lot of people have gone to see it. Only 56% of critics' reviews are positive, according to Rotten Tomatoes, while the score from audience reviews tells a starkly different story at 94%. One of the main stars of
Aladdin has taken to social media to share his gratitude to filmgoers.
Will Smith recently made an Instagram post (
@WillSmith) in which he thanks fans for going out to theatres and seeing the new, live-action remake of
Aladdin in which he plays the Genie.
"Thank You to Everybody who came out this weekend. #Aladdin. We LOVE this Movie! We are humbled & honored that you are feeling the same," the caption read.
Mena Masoud and Naomi Scott also star in the film, playing Aladdin and Princess Jasmine respectively. Along with his thankful message, Smith shared some selfies from behind-the-scenes of the production. He and Masoud have evidently become just as fond of each other as Aladdin and the Genie.
