Aladdin released in theatres on the 24th May and stars Mena Masoud as the titular street rat, Naomi Scott as Princess Jasmine, and Will Smith as the genie. The latter, legendary actor recently took to social media to share his gratitude as the live-action remake of
Aladdin is now the highest-grossing film of his career.
Smith has starred in a plethora of of classics since his acting career began in the 1990s. Some notable instalments are as follows:
Men in Black,
Bad Boys,
I Am Legend, and
Independence Day. The latter was the previous holder of the title, with $817.4 million, before
Aladdin recently hit the $824 million mark at the worldwide box office.
The popular actor took to social media (
@willsmith) to share a video of himself celebrating the news. The caption of the Instagram post said as follows:
"Aladdin just became the biggest movie of my career! I’m honored and I’m Speechless. (You see what I did there? Gotta pay attention) The only thing I can say is... Thank You."
